The 14th Judicial District Community Corrections has an immediate position opening for a Full-Time Adult Intensive Supervision Officer.

Position Description is as follows.

POSITION SUMMARY: Intensively supervises adult felony probationers, who are assigned to Community Corrections, pursuant to the Kansas Department of Corrections’ supervision standards and the agency policy and procedure manual. The individual filling this position will specifically supervise assigned adult offenders’ compliance with court ordered conditions of probation through risk and need assessment and development of a supervision plan through face-to-face contacts that occur in the office and at various locations in the community.

Establish and maintain contacts with various service providers including mental health, substance abuse, employment, vocational/educational agencies and employers. Maintain offender case file records in computer database. Appear and on occasion testify in court. This position may have a caseload in Coffeyville, Independence, and Sedan Offices, but will be based in Independence.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation with a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in the social sciences, psychology, counseling, criminology, corrections, criminal justice, social work, etc. Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills. Working knowledge of personal computers. Experience with Microsoft Windows & Word is required.
