Deputy Sheriff

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’slicense, no felony criminal record, no misdemeanor battery convictions, and be able to pass a background check. Applicants must be able to pass any and all drug testing, as well as psychological testing. KLET Certification or equivalent certification preferred but not required. Applicants should have good public relations and communication skills, with at least three (3) years LEO experience preferred but not required. Must be able to perform all tasks of a Deputy Sheriff as prescribed in the Montgomery County duty manual. Applicants must be able to work any hours as directed by the Sheriff, including but not limited to, transports that may take the applicant away from home for long hours, nights and weekends and holidays. Montgomery County Treasurer’s Office has an immediate opening for a full-time Clerk I located at the Auto Tag Office in Independence, Kansas. Applicants must possess a current Kansas driver’s license, be bondable, and have the ability to operate typical office machines with a preferred knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, able to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for extended lengths of time and be able to work well with others including the public. Duties include: waiting on customers, processing vehicle titles, registrations, filing and receive cash payments, count back change, and balance cash drawer daily. Starting wage of $9.50 per hour.
