The Board of County Commissioners, three members and the County Clerk present, met in regular session at 9:00 AM.

CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Lewark-Wood to approve the agenda as amended. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Fowler.

APPROVAL OF PAYMENT OF INVOICES:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Fowler to approve invoices in the amount of $376,816.05 and $40.29 as presented by the County Clerks office. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Fowler to approve the minutes of May 21, 2007 as presented by the County Clerk. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

CANVASS OF VOTES CANEY CITY SPECIAL ELECTION:
The official canvass of votes was held for the September 11th Special Sales Tax election with the Board of County Commissioners serving as the official Board of Canvassers at 9:15 AM. There were no changes to the results of the election with one (1) provisional ballot counted by the Board. There was no public input at the canvass.

COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS KURTIS SIMMONS:
Kurtis Simmons, Community Corrections Director, met with the Board and presented a Risk Production Grant application. He said larger counties will have a greater risk and will receive more money than those with a lesser risk. The grant money received by Montgomery County will be used for one (1) new officer and training. There are no matching funds required of the county. He is requesting $84,321.72 from the grant.
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Fowler to approve the Risk Production Grant application in the amount of $84,831.72 as presented by the Community Corrections Director. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

Mr. Simmons presented the Year-end Outcome report and the State-Wide outcome report for the signature of the Chairman.
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Tucker to authorize the Chairman to sign the Community Corrections Year-end Outcome Report and the State Wide Outcome Report on behalf of the County. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fowler.

PUBLIC WORKS:
Robert Bever, Public Works Coordinator, presented the weekly written report. The following items were discussed: Update on asphalting; Rock Report for month of August; Letter to Watco Companies in Wichita regarding complaints on the railroad tracks (no reply has been received); Update on fence issue between Randy Diver and Ken Evans; Updates on Williams case (Sweeney Hill Accident) and Clark case (Judicial Center fall); and update on work being done in Department of Corrections on valves and heat and air.
Mr. Bever reported FEMA is still working on inspecting roads. Reports are being written by FEMA but have no figures on cost to report at this time.

SHERIFF:
Sheriff Stan Veach advised the Board the board in the booking camera went bad. Jason Clubine will be sent to look at it this afternoon. Mr. Clubine will also work on the computer in the Department of Corrections which has been reported as not working also.

OTHER BUSINESS:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Lewark-Wood to approve the purchase of two computers from Family Children Services for Planning and Zoning in the amount of $150.00 total and to be paid from Planning and Zoning Budget. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fowler.

5. Approved meeting to discuss changes in the Employee Handbook between Human Resources, Paul Kritz and Sue Willman. A maximum price of $1,900.00 for the cost of the revised handbook.
