August 3, 2006

The Board of County Commissioners, three members and the County Clerk present, met in Thursday evening session at 7:00 PM at the City of Cherryvale, Cherryvale City Hall.

CALL TO ORDER:  Commissioner Mattix.

INVOCATION:  Commissioner Mattix.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:  Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

Those attending the meeting were Jerry Wallace, Cherryvale City Council, Trey Cocking, Cherryvale City Administrator and Jim Miller, Montgomery County Emergency Preparedness Director.

TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT FUND:

ACTION:  A motion was made by Commissioner Mattix to acknowledge the transfer of $5,000.00 from Special Law Enforcement and authorize the County Clerk to prepare a check in this amount to the Sheriff’s Department payable to Montgomery County Drug Task Force.  Motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

The Board thanked the City of Cherryvale for providing a meeting place to the Board of County Commissioner.

Mr. Jerry Wallace addressed the Board and commended the County Clerk for “how smoothly the election went on Tuesday”.  The County Clerk gave some statistics and budget figures on elections and described the new election system implemented by the State.

The Board discussed blacktop road south of Tyro and Commissioner Lewark-Wood commended the Road and Bridge personnel for the work on this road.

Mr. Trey Cocking, Cherryvale City Administrator was introduced to the Board.

ACTION:  Motion by Commissioner Mattix, seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.
