July 24, 2006

The Board of County Commissioners, three members and the County Clerk present, met in regular session at 9:00 AM.

CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Mattix.

INVOCATION: Commissioner Mattix.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA:

ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Mattix to approve the agenda as amended. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

ROLL CALL VOTE – Commissioner Mattix - Yes

Commissioner Tucker - Yes

Commissioner Lewark-Wood – Yes

APPROVAL OF PAYMENT OF INVOICES:

ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Tucker to approve invoices in the amount of $22,683.66 as presented by the County Clerk’s office. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

PUBLIC WORKS:

Barbara Curtis, Public Works Coordinator, presented the weekly written report. The following items were discussed: Asphalting report; request to vacate a portion of County Road 5700, viewing date August 21^st; Major Bridge Replacement Status (County Bridge No. 19, County Bridge No. 1206 and County Bridge No. 1001); Building maintenance ; and advised the Board the antennas on the Judicial Building are not grounded. No action was taken as a result of this report.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFF:

Sheriff Stan Veach met with the Board. Discussed itemized receipts for bills to be paid. Discussed telephone system for console and was directed to talk to Barbara Curtis.

OTHER COUNTY BUSINESS:

County Appraiser presented contract for reappraisal of the refinery.
Appointment of Juvenile Advisory Board –

ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Mattix to approve the appointments to the Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board as follows: Daylene Walls; Larry Markle; Rockie Yell; Stan Veach; Robert Wesley; Lisa Brookover; Roger Gossard; Debby Green and Mike Todd. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

Commissioner Tucker - Yes

Commissioner Lewark-Wood – Yes

RES. NO. 06-129

Discussed Advisory Election requirements with the County Clerk.
Approval of budget publication and Public Hearing Date set for August 14^th.
Payroll verbally approved for monthly employees.

Executive Session – Commissioner Tucker -

ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Lewark-Wood to recess to Executive Session at 10:30 AM to return at 10:45 AM to discuss non-elected personnel with the Board present. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Tucker.

ROLL CALL VOTE – Commissioner Mattix - Yes

Commissioner Tucker - Yes

Commissioner Lewark-Wood – Yes

Returned to session at 10:45 AM with no action taken and no decisions made.

Discussed credit card receipts being presented for payment. The Board agreed if an itemized, legible receipt is not presented the individual incurring the charge will be personally responsible.
