June 1, 2006
The Board of County Commissioners, two members and the County Clerk present, met in evening session at 7:00 PM at Havana Community Building. Commissioner Tucker was absent.

CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Mattix.
INVOCATION: Commissioner Mattix.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Lewark-Wood.
AGENDA APPROVAL:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Lewark-Wood to approve the agenda as amended. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Mattix.

Commissioner Mattix called the meeting to order at the Havana Community Center at 7:00 PM. Those present for the meeting were: Commissioner Mattix, Commissioner Lewark-Wood, County Clerk Charlotte Schmidt, Mayor of Havana Dennis Hodges, Councilman Rick Sauer, Delmar Hodges, Betty Thompson, Joe Stephens, Louise Ray, Donnie Hodges, Alfred Daniels, Questa Berry, Diana Cox, Avice Bair, Ruth Branham, Jim Branham, Mrs. Dennis Hodges, Tori Hodges, Henry Schmidt, Louis Wood and Emergency Preparedness Director Jim Miller.

Dennis Hodges discussed serious drainage problems in Havana. He has met with Barbara Curtis and she has been down to look at the problem. Also, the tree limbs and trash should be cleaned from the ditches for better drainage. Many of the trees have not been picked up after being cut and are lying in the ditches. There are serious drainage problems due to horns needing to be replaced or are clogged.
Diane Cox said the railroad crossing is really bad and the railroad will have to be notified.
Alfred Daniels asked where they go if there is a tornado. Mayor Hodges said they are applying for a grant for the construction of a storm shelter for the city.
Discussed the detour road and the need for repair when the bridge work is completed and the road is opened.
Jim Miller, Emergency Preparedness Director gave a report on Pandamic Flue and “taking care of yourself”.
Discussed spraying for mosquitoes when the water doesn’t drain properly.

OTHER COUNTY BUSINESS:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Lewark-Wood to approve the purchase of computer equipment for Montgomery County Health Department in the amount of $7,200.00 from Dell Company. Debit County Health Fund. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Mattix.
