The Board of County Commissioners, three members and the County Clerk present, met in regular session at 7:00 PM at the Liberty Community Center.

CALL TO ORDER:  Commissioner Mattix.

INVOCATION:  Commissioner Mattix.  

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:  Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

 

AGENDA APPROVAL:

 

ACTION A motion was made by Commissioner Mattix to approve the agenda as amended.  The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

     ROLL CALL VOTE – Commissioner Mattix - Yes

                                                   Commissioner Tucker - Yes

                                                   Commissioner Lewark-Wood – Yes

Public attending the meeting were:  Larry Felts, Shirley Felts, Wayne Felts, Francis Felts, and

 Mayor Bruce Main.  Jim Miller, Emergency Preparedness Director was also in attendance.

CLASS LTD SUPPORT LETTER FOR GRANT:

 

ACTION:  A motion was made by Commissioner Mattix to authorize the Chairman to sign on behalf of Montgomery County, a pledge of support for the CLASS LTD Grant Application with no financial responsibility on the county.  Motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

     ROLL CALL VOTE – Commissioner Mattix - Yes

                                                   Commissioner Tucker - Yes

                                                   Commissioner Lewark-Wood – Yes

OTHER COUNTY BUSINESS:

                                                   

  1. Commissioner Lewark-Wood discussed Sunflower Road from Coffeyville.  She had traveled the road to the meeting and said part of the road is in bad shape and the Board needs to speak to Public Works.
  2. Shirley Felts talked with the Board about needing the ditches cleaned on CR 5100.  The drainage is bad and affects Reardon, Campbell, Felts and Holliday properties.
  3. Mayor Bruce Main gave information he had been advised of on the octane level in gasoline may be lower than listed and could burn up small motors.  He was concerned about the Rural Fire Departments engines.  The letter with this information came from Mobil Exon and they suggested a “Seafoam Additive to gasoline”.
  4. Commissioner Tucker gave a review of county projects and repairs on the courthouse and judicial building.  He also addressed the chip and seal for the county road by the Liberty Cemetery.
  5. Announced Larry Markle has been selected to serve the remainder of Bill Cullins term as Montgomery County Attorney by the Republican Central Committee.

Recessed at 7:55 PM to Liberty Fire Station for tour of the station by Fire Chief Larry Felts.
