The Board of County Commissioners, three members and the County Clerk present, met in regular session at 7:00 PM.

CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Mattix.
INVOCATION: Commissioner Tucker.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Color Guard Boy Scout Troup #54.
AGENDA APPROVAL:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Lewark-Wood to approve the agenda as amended. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Tucker.

COUNTY TREASURER NANCY CLUBINE EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Nancy Clubine, County Treasurer, presented a report to the Board on the tax settlement. She then requested an Executive Session for non-elected personnel.
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Lewark-Wood to recess to Executive Session at 7:05 PM to return at 7:20 PM to discuss non-elected personnel with the County Treasurer present. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Mattix.

Returned to session at 7:20 PM with no action taken and no decisions made.
Ms. Clubine recommended the bonds for the County Treasurer employees be reduced from $80,000 to $25,000 and the County Treasurer continue to be bonded at $100,000. She explained due to the money being deposited and each employee responsible for their intake from customers, the $25,000 will be sufficient and reduce the cost of each bond. The following action was taken:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Tucker for the Board to authorize the reduction of the bonds for County Treasurers employees from $80,000.00 to $25,000.00 and the County Treasurer to remain bonded for $100,000.00.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

OTHER COUNTY BUSINESS:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Mattix to accept the recommendation of the Montgomery County Solid Waste Committee on the review of the 5-year Montgomery County Solid Waste Plan. The Committee recommended no changes to the 5-year plan but could possibly include a transfer station near Cherryvale at a later date. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

Mr. Miller advised the Board he met with the National Weather Service and the Sheriffs Department will be the contact for the National Weather Service, Wichita, Kansas. They in turn will alert the necessary emergency units.
Mr. Jim Miller presented grant application for Homeland Security Grant in the amount of $281,480.00 for the approval of the Board. The following action was taken:
ACTION: A motion was made by Commissioner Lewark-Wood to authorize the Chairman to sign on behalf of Montgomery County, the grant application for Homeland Security Grant in the amount of $281,480.00. Motion was seconded by
Commissioner Tucker.
