The Board of County Commissioners, three members and the County Clerk present, met in regular session at 9:00 AM.

CALL TO ORDER:  Commissioner Mattix.

INVOCATION:  Commissioner Mattix.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:  Commissioner Lewark-Wood.

 

CANVASS OF VOTES – SCHOOL/CITY GENERAL ELECTION (APRIL 5, 2005):

 

The official Canvass of Votes was conducted at 9:00 AM with the Board of County Commissioners sitting as the Board of Canvassers, with the County Clerk, Deputy County Clerk and Election Clerk present.

 

No change in election results occurred with the canvassing of votes.  The canvass was concluded at 10:15 AM.

AGENDA APPROVAL:

 

ACTION A motion was made by Commissioner Tucker to approve the agenda as amended.  The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewark-Wood..

     ROLL CALL VOTE – Commissioner Mattix - Yes

                                                   Commissioner Tucker - Yes

                                                   Commissioner Lewark-Wood – Yes

Commissioner Tucker left at 10:20 AM to attend a funeral

PUBLIC HEARING – FIVE YEAR COUNTY BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PLAN:

 

Barbara Curtis, Public Works Coordinator, presented plans for the five-year county bridge replacement.

 

Commissioner Mattix questioned the feasibility of replacement of two (2) bridges east of Coffeyville.  Ms. Curtis stated a counter had been placed some time back and recorded 600 plus vehicles per day.  These bridges are scheduled to be replaced in 2006.

 

County Bridge No. 19 (2.4 miles W. of Cherryvale on County Road 5000-21 is scheduled for 10-19-05.

 

Each bridge scheduled to be replaced was discussed.  There was no public input at the hearing.  Hearing closed at 10:40.

OTHER COUNTY BUSINESS:

 

  1. Caney Township Trustee – Ivan Pfalser – Road conditions in Caney Township:

Mr. Pfalser expressed concerns on all roads being in “bad shape” in Caney Township.  He also discussed signage needed on the township roads and reports he had made to Public Works requesting attention to these matters.  Barbara Curtis, Public Works Coordinator was present for Mr. Pfalser’s discussion.  No commitments were made at this time.

The Board will meet again on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 10:00 AM to continue the present agenda and any other county business necessary.
